    Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP)

    The primary objective of the Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP) is to increase the understanding of accounting and business career opportunities among high school students from underrepresented ethnic groups. Through Accounting Careers Awareness Program's (ACAP) efforts, students have received educational enrichment experiences and practical help needed for college preparation and a career in accounting.     Community Relations Committee

    The Community Relations Committee is charged with serving as a liaison between NABA and various community-based groups. We are looking for members to help accomplish our community relations initiatives such as VITA, Financial Literacy Workshops, Big Brother Big Sister and other community volunteer efforts. We provide members with several opportunities to give back to the community.     Resource Development

    The Resource Development Committee is responsible for maintaining the Chapter's relationship with Philadelphia's corporate community.   We will do this by providing networking opportunities and keeping open lines of communications with corporate partners.  This year, we are expanding the existing program to new partners and are seeking volunteers who would like to help us in this effort. Please send an e-mail to the director to join this dynamic committee and find out ways you can get involved

    Professional Member Services

    NABA is widely known as a professional membership-driven organization.  The committee’s main goals for the year include retaining the previous fiscal year’s professional membership and ensuring that our chapter is effectively servicing our professional members.  The committee has a solid operating plan that outlines action steps for achieving our goals as achieving them is critical to our success.  If you are serious about execution and want to take part in the above mentioned action, please join us!

    Marketing & Branding
    Director: Jesse Rhodes, Jr., jesse@nabaphilly.org

    The function of the Marketing & Branding Committee is to plan and manage all publicity or promotional events, assist in coordinating internal information programs, or public information programs in accordance with the prescribed NABA Philadelphia Chapter Public Relations Policy. We need individuals who possess, or who would like to develop, excellent written and oral communication skills.  Committee membership will require interfacing with members and external media sources.

    Professional Education

    The Professional Education Committee is charged with scheduling speakers for the chapter’s monthly meetings to provide continuing professional education (CPE) to our members. The speakers provide technical lectures on current accounting topics, current corporate and individual tax updates, personal career enhancement, small business issues, managing investments and other accounting and professional development related issues. Each monthly meeting lecture is intended to help members who are certified as public accountants, management accountants, internal auditors, or fraud examiners to earn their required CPE credit hours. The meetings and workshops are also intended to provide the general membership the opportunities to expand their knowledge base and provide a conduit for networking with members and professionals.

    Social Activities

    The goals and objectives of this committee are to provide the chapter members with planned events for membership enrichment, enjoyment and relaxation to help balance our time with enjoyable events while we’re accomplishing our Chapter’s mission. The Committee assists the Chapter with creating new methods for raising additional scholarship monies to help encourage students to pursue their dreams.     Student Member Services

    The Student Member Services Committee was developed to act as a liaison between our professional chapter and the NABA Student Chapters at area colleges and universities.

    The committee’s purpose is to act as a foundation of support to the student chapters. This committee is involved with assessing the need for establishing student chapters at other area colleges and universities. The Student Member Services Committee is a major player in the Eastern Region Student Conference where corporations are invited to recruit minority students at a three-day conference.
